It was a first major championship for Ardnasalem Drake Walburga and her Kilkenny owner John C Murphy at National Dairy Show in Millstreet, Ireland. Last Saturdays show was judged by Mark Nutsford. He tapped out the Drake daughter as his most 'balanced cow'.

Supreme Champion Holstein on Wednesday went to Castellhyfryd Spirte Rosina (Spirte) who earlier won 1st Junior Cow in Milk and owned by S P & S R Davies & K & C Thomas. Reserve Supreme Champion Holstein went to Richaven Goldwyn Adrienne (Goldwyn) shown by R A Bown.

Tom King and family from Vortex Holsteins, Martinstown, Dorchester, Dorset is the winner of this year’s NMR/RABDF Gold Cup, announced Tuesday September 6 at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show. Tom King is the fourth generation at Church Farm and runs the 120-hectare unit with his father Alan.

The “Kilsunny” herd of Mr Trevor and Louise Dudley & family was the host venue for the 2011 Irish Pure Friesian Open day. The unwelcome weather forecast of rain failed to dampen enthusiasm as farmers travelled from near and far to avail of the chance to view this top class herd of pure Friesians at Kilsunny House, Dovea, Thurles, Co Tipperary.
